Vassell vs. Carmont, Girtz vs. Piccolotti Announced for Bellator 165 Main Card

Two bouts have been added to the Bellator 165 main draw, as Linton Vassell will face Francis Carmont at light heavyweight, while Brandon Girtz will take on Adam Piccolotti at lightweight.

The California-based promotion announced the matchups on Tuesday. Bellator 165 takes place at the SAP Center in San Jose on Nov. 19 and is headlined by a lightweight championship bout between Michael Chandler and Benson Henderson. The main card airs on Spike TV at 9 p.m. ET/8 p.m. CT.

Vassell has alternated wins and losses in his last four appearances, including a unanimous verdict over Emanuel Newton in his last outing at Bellator 149. Carmont has won three of four since signing with the promtion, with his only loss coming at the hands of fellow UFC veteran Phil Davis.

Girtz enters his fight on a three-fight winning streak, including a 37-second TKO of Derek Campos at Bellator 146. Piccolotti is 8-0 as a professional and 4-0 in Bellator, with all but one of his promotional appearances ending via submission.
