UFC Rochester Gets Charles Oliveira-Nik Lentz Trilogy Bout

By Tristen Critchfield Apr 15, 2019

Charles Oliveira and Nik Lentz will square off for a third time at UFC Rochester on May 18.

Promotion officials recently confirmed the lightweight contest along with three other bouts: Danny Roberts vs. Michel Pereira at welterweight; Julio Arce vs. Julian Erosa at featherweight and Davi Ramos vs. Austin Hubbard at lightweight.

UFC Fight Night 151 takes place at Blue Cross Arena in Rochester, N.Y., and is headlined by a welterweight scrap pitting Rafael dos Anjos against Kevin Lee. The card will stream on ESPN+.

Oliveira and Lentz first fought at UFC Live 4 in June 2011, when their clash ended in a no contest after “The Carny” was struck by an illegal knee. Oliveira earned a victory in the rematch, tapping Lentz with a guillotine choke at the 1:10 mark of the third round at UFC Fight Night 67 in May 2015.

“Do Bronx” is currently on a four-bout Octagon winning streak in which he has finished all of his opponents via submission. Most recently, he used an anaconda choke to finish David Teymur in the second round of their UFC Fight Night 144 encounter.

Lentz, meanwhile, has won three of his last four Octagon appearances. He last fought at UFC on ESPN 1, where he captured a unanimous decision over Scott Holtzman.
